Evaluation

Evaluation

FAST programmes are thoroughly evaluated. Participants and teachers (all programs except Baby FAST) fill out evaluation surveys. The program is also reviewed as it’s being delivered and at completion. This reflection enables FAST to determine programme strengths, any delivery weakness and the outcomes for the families as a result of attending the programme.

The FAST International surveys are utilised with urban programmes where English is the predominantly used langauge of the participants. Once completed these surveys are sent to FAST International who then collate the results and provide a detailed report on the programme.

Our experience in working in remote communities clearly demonstrated the need for a different evaluation tool for participants whose first language is other than English. In partnership with Charles Darwin University a remote evaluation tool has been developed. This tool relies heavily on a narrative and highly visual approach. Participants respond to scenarios delivered in their language.
